Malcolm's recent stint as a writer on season 4 of The CROWN (NETFLIX) was the latest triumph in a busy writing and screenwriting career. Formerly a community worker and NHS manager, the first TV screenplay he ever wrote was optioned and taken into development at BBC Scotland Drama. Since then he went on to write half hour episodes of popular kids BBC TV drama MI HIGH. and became chief writer on the 2nd series of anarchic TV game show 'The Dog Ate my Homework' (it won a BAFTA).
Malcolm has also had screenplays and comedies optioned by ISLAND PICTURES, KUDOS PRODUCATIONS, DLT ENTERTAINMENT, BBC COMEDY & TWO FOUR DIGITAL. He also secured a comedy development deal with AVALON TELEVISION.
Malcolm also writes for BBC radio, stand-up comedians and has been a journalist for the Big Issue (Arts, and Music), The Skinny (Theatre), The List Eating & Drinking Guide (Food & Drink), and ARTMAG (Arts, food and Theatre).
He's also an artist and musician.
